She meets Rs underground music scene in 2016 gaining recognition across local blogs, venues, and radio stations. Throughout 2017 to 2020, August released five EPs while maintaining Creative Writing Miss August during 2020s quarantine before signing to Lil Durks Only The Family, Chicagos #1 label. Her 2021 single How Does It Feel was her first single as a signed artist and has amassed over 2 million streams. Her following projects, released independently, convey relatable emotions with themes surrounding heartbreak, nostalgia, love & empowerment.
