Ethereal harmonies and nostalgic melodies weave together to tell honest stories that capture the everyday moments that so often pass us by. The Magnolia Janes have a way of sorting through lifes highs and lows, painting lush, emotional soundscapes that guide listeners to look for the beauty within.Made up of friends and songwriters Ashley Riley and Sarah Bonsignore, the duo first met at a sync songwriting retreat in the Pocono Mountains. Both acclaimed solo artists who have had success writing music for film & TV, they bonded over their love of vintage clothes, cheap wine and so many laughs. They performed together, backing each other up on their own solo music on stages in California, Nashville, and New York before officially deciding to form their band.Sarahs South African music heritage, classical piano and opera training fuses seamlessly with Ashleys Midwestern grassroots rock and folk influences, allowing them to create songs that are a unique blend of Chopin and Sheryl Crow, incorporating lush string arrangements with acoustic folk guitar, and vibey experimental synth sounds with classic rock. As budding producers, the duo was able to record and produce much of their album remotely, splitting their time between Decatur, IL and Nashville, TN. They also called on the expert talents of producers James Treichler and John Willis for their full band songs.The Magnolia Janes debut album The Light Years released July 12, 2024 and reached #1 on the FAI Folk Radio Charts at debut and also earned them a spot in the FAI Radio Charts Top 20 of 2024 and a showcase at the legendary Bitter End in NYC as part of John Platts On Your Radar Series. Ashley and Sarah believe that music and art, now more than ever before, offer a way to feel connected, inspired and hopeful.
